This report was kindly provided by John Drake, Competition Secretary and umpire for the day.
The Annual Bradley Trophy competition took place on Saturday 12th August with nine teams of three competitors taking part. Despite the predicted rainy weather forecast, it remained dry for the majority of the day with a couple of sharp showers to challenge and refresh the players!
The Start.
After the first three rounds there was just the "John Russell, Ian Brickley and Ann O’Halloran" team that had won all its matches. However, that changed after lunch when after the fourth round there were three teams vying for a place in the final.
Unfortunately for John, his team lost in round four and five and the final was between Gary Preston’s team (last year’s winners) and Douglas McWee’s team.
Douglas McWee’s team gets the mat.
The final was a close fought contest...
The first heavy shower of the afternoon.
On the penultimate end Gary’s team were holding five shots with just one wood left to play, but Douglas drew shot making it a thrilling last end. Douglas’s team went on to win.

We're holding for the match.
But Douglas McWee takes the match with his last wood...
...and the skips shake hands.
Our President (on the right below) made the presentation of the trophy to the winning team (Douglas McWee, Christine Pickard and Sue Mulholland) and congratulated both the winners and runners up (Gary and Janet Preston with Paul Morton)
