Warm weather, prosecco, cream teas, excellent company.

Lynn Devall, our Sponsorship Co-ordinator has written a few words that capture the spirit of a very enjoyable afternoon on the 1st June. Richard Yeoman took (almost all) the photographs.

“A warm sunny afternoon was very welcome as members enjoyed playing in The Howden Trophy. A team from Howden were on hand offering lots of goodies and “refreshments “ which we all enjoyed… particularly the Prosecco!

John Drake, Competitions Secretary organised a Round Robin. With six rinks in play, twelve teams with three bowlers per team played four matches of five ends each, each bowler playing two woods. The two top teams then played a six end final. Phew!

The qualifying matches commence.

The qualifiers are over and "the lovely ladies who did the catering"

look forward to the final.

A wood joins the count.

The spectators are having a great time.

The players give no quarter.

But one team has to win..

Team L - Cynthia Parker, Norman Jackson and Mark Peatman.

After the presentation a delicious Cream Tea was available for all the players.

Thank you to the ladies who prepared this for us.

Howden have been a very valuable, generous sponsor and we are very grateful for their continued support. Many thanks to their team of Adam, Nick and Josh who made the day so special for us.“

And our thanks go to Lynn Devall, John Drake and Richard Yeoman for all their hard work.
